- CDeMUSIC is a really good source for recordings of experimental music.
- Deep Listening is a project founded by Pauline Oliveros and a great source for many experimental music scores and recordings. Check out their catalog.
- Frog Peak Music is the source for a number of interesting recordings and scores.
- Other Minds is a San Francisco-based new music advocacy organization. Check out the annual Other Minds Festival concert series held each spring.
- The Sonoma County Choral Society promotes the performance and enjoyment of choral music in the North San Francisco Bay Area.
- Steve Tibbetts, a post-rock guitarist. Check out his collaboration with Norwegian Hardanger fiddler Knut Hamre entitled Å. September, 2004 saw the release of his latest album, Selwa, Tibbetts' second collaboration with Choying Drolma. Buy it. Buy them all.

- Artifact Recordings, based in San Francisco, presents recordings of unusual and experimental music.
- Centaur Records is the most prolific publisher of computer music in North Americaand that's just one of their interests. With their eclectic catalog, Centaur makes available a lot of music that you just don't hear every day.
- Lovely Music, the NYC-based source for Alvin Lucier's and many other provocative recordings.
- New Albion, one home of the Deep Listening Band and Stuart Dempster.
- Reference Recordings, another San Francisco-based label.
- Wildboar, a sibling of Berkeley's The Musical Offering, a great classical record shop.
